"Where do you (really) come from? Identity, Migration and Postcolonialism" is an archive and art project that deals with German colonial history in Peru and its continuities.

Through a collective research process and the exchange of archival material between descendants of Germans who lived in Peru, the dominant orders of knowledge from then and now are questioned. To this end, artworks will be created using the resulting narratives and archival material, which will also serve as a starting point for discussions about postcolonial migration flows in Berlin.

"Where do you (really) come from?" aims to inspire the public, especially the Peruvian diaspora in Berlin and also local people, to ask questions about the aftermath of colonialism and its connection to contemporary migration movements.
