HELGA ELSNER TORRES
(Peru, 1989)

Peruvian visual artist and activist. Lives and works between Peru (Lima, Loreto) and Berlin.

Born and raised in Lima, Helga comes from a family from San Martín Region, in the upper part of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Having a strong relationship with the environment, she has been since child traveling to differents parts of the Rainforest (Ucayali, Loreto, San Martin, etc.) and since 2015 making projects together with the native community of Cuninico, getting to know the reality of the oil spills.

Now dedicated to the creation of art that brings awareness of indigenous resistance.
